Cinemapa Privacy Policy
Last updated: 09/30/2026
1. Who is responsible
Cinemapa does not require registration or an account: we do not collect your name, email address or phone number. We only process technical and usage data from the app, so that it works, sends you the updates you agreed to and gets bugs fixed.
The data controller is AirunMobile, developer of the Cinemapa app for Android. You can contact us at [email protected] about this policy or your data.
This policy applies to the Cinemapa app downloaded from Google Play. It complements the Terms and Conditions of Use.
2. What data we collect
We collect five types of data, all of them technical or about how you use the app. None of them identifies you by name.
| Data | What it includes | Who receives it |
|---|---|---|
| App interactions | Movies, TV shows and locations you view; taps on the map; use of trailers, podcasts and soundtracks; content you share; filters; chosen language and distance unit | Firebase Analytics (Google) |
| In-app searches | Text you type in the movie search box | Firebase Analytics (Google) |
| Crash logs | Technical report when the app closes because of an error or a data sync fails: error trace, device model and Android version | Firebase Crashlytics (Google) |
| Diagnostics | App state at the time of the crash (memory, orientation, app version) | Firebase Crashlytics (Google) |
| Device identifiers | Random installation ID created by the app, notification token, platform and app language; Firebase internal identifiers and the Android advertising ID | Supabase and Firebase |
What we do not collect:
- Your location. The app uses GPS only on your phone, to sort and filter filming locations by distance and show you on the map. Your position is never sent to our servers or to Firebase.
- Account data. There is no sign-up or login.
- Advertising. The app shows no ads. Firebase Analytics may read the Android advertising ID only to measure app usage; you can reset or delete it in your device's Google settings.
- Contacts, photos, files or messages on your device.
3. Why we use it and on what legal basis
We use the data only to run the app, improve it and send you notifications you agreed to. We do not sell it or use it to show you ads.
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Send you notifications about new content in your language | Device identifiers, notification token, app language | Your consent, when you allow notifications |
| Detect and fix errors | Crash logs, diagnostics | Legitimate interest in keeping the app stable and secure (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Understand which content interests users and improve the app | Interactions, searches, Firebase identifiers | Legitimate interest in improving the service (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
You can withdraw your consent to notifications at any time in your Android settings. You can object to processing based on legitimate interest by writing to us (section 7).
4. Who we share data with
We do not sell or give away your data. It is processed on our behalf by the providers that make the app work.
| Provider | Purpose | Location | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google (Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Cloud Messaging) | Usage statistics, crash reports and sending notifications | EU and US | Firebase privacy |
| Supabase | Database with the catalogue and the device registry for notifications | EU (Ireland) | Supabase privacy |
| Google Maps | Showing the map of filming locations | EU and US | Google privacy |
| YouTube (Google) | Playing trailers inside the app | EU and US | Google privacy |
| The Movie Database (TMDB) | Fetching trailers, cast and images | US | TMDB privacy |
When you load the map, a trailer or an image, these services receive technical data such as your device's IP address, which they need to deliver the content.
Transfers outside the European Economic Area. Some providers process data in the US. Google participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; other transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. Device permissions
The app asks for two permissions. You can grant or revoke both at any time in your Android settings.
| Permission | What it is used for | If you deny it |
|---|---|---|
| Location (precise and approximate) | Showing your position on the map and sorting or filtering filming locations by distance. Used only while the app is open and never sent off your device | The app needs it to show the map and the catalogue, and asks you to enable it before continuing |
| Notifications | Sending you news about added movies and locations. Asked once, after the introduction screens | You receive no notifications and your device is not registered for them |
6. How long we keep data
Each type of data is kept only as long as its purpose requires.
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Crash logs and diagnostics | 90 days, deleted automatically by Firebase Crashlytics |
| Interactions and searches (Analytics) | Up to 14 months, according to the retention period set in Google Analytics |
| Device registration for notifications (Supabase) | Until you ask us to delete it |
| Movie catalogue and app preferences stored on your phone | On your device only, until you uninstall the app or clear its data |
7. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, or to receive it in a portable format. Write to [email protected] with the subject "Privacy"; we answer within one month.
- Deleting your data. Tell us in your email that you want your data deleted. Because the app has no accounts, we may ask for details that help us find the records linked to your device, such as the approximate date you installed the app.
- Stopping collection yourself. Turning off notifications in your Android settings stops them. Uninstalling the app stops all collection and deletes the data stored on your phone.
- Complaints. If you think we have not handled your data properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es) or to the supervisory authority in your country.
8. Children, security and changes
Children. Cinemapa is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has used the app and want their data deleted, contact us.
Security. All data travels encrypted (HTTPS). The device registry in our database cannot be read with the app's public key; devices can only register themselves.
Changes. We will publish any change to this policy on this page and update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will also announce it in the app's release notes.
